Meet Theresa!

My name is Theresa Irene Banks. I love my full name, Theresa was my paternal Grandmother and Irene was my maternal Grandmother and I miss them both. I am married to Ron Banks, for the last 31 years, he is a US Naval Officer and we currently live in Guam, USA.

I have one daughter Tamara Marie (My two mom’s) and one AMAZING grandson Dexter, who is the focus of most of my scrapbook pages. My daughter is married to a sailor also and they are also currently stationed on Guam.

I scrapbook with Photoshop CS5 and I LOVE it. I am always finding new things I didn’t know. I’ve used Photoshop CS for the last 10 years; it is the program I started scrapbooking with. I’ve only been serious about digital scrapbooking for the last couple maybe three years.

My favorite thing about digital scrapbooking is:
1) I can use the elements and papers over and over and over again without having to re-buy them as with paper scrapping. I like multi pages I do of the same theme to match, color wise and this makes it very easy for me! I never run short on anything with digi scrappin.
2) Once I create a layout I like I can save it without the photos and reuse the whole layout. For example the Easter egg dying layout I did I can remove the photos of my grandson dyeing eggs and insert the photos of my brother’s family dyeing eggs and ZIPPO ZINGO I’m done with another set of photos!

My dream job would be one where I got paid millions of dollars to help people who could not afford to pay millions of dollars for me to help them. I love volunteering in the community so I have my dream job I guess…it would just be nice to be paid millions of dollars too.

Color is the first thing that grabs me about kits. I guess that is the thing that inspires me the most.

I “NEED” my book on tape playing while I scrap, and when I get stuck I like chocolate, Dove or Cadbury milk chocolate.

My favorite dinner is…hummmm FOOD! I eat just about anything as long as it doesn’t have large chunks of cooked peppers or onions in it. Even then I’m not opposed to the flavor of peppers and onions just the biting into them.

My very favorite thing to do is to play with my grandson.

You can see all my completed pages on my Facebook page: Theresa Banks

J  I have two dogs a Newfoundland (sweetheart), lab mix and a new kitten (Ragdoll mix).  I am a huge animal lover; I would love to live on a farm someday with a mini donkey and a huge garden! J

How long have you been digital scrapbooking?
I’ve been digitally scrapbooking about a year and a half now and LOVE it!!
What’s your favorite thing about digital scrapbooking?
There are so many things I love about digitally scrapbooking you could be here all day reading it!  I love that there is no mess, which means my kids don’t come over and help me with my pages, which usually consist of them shredding my favorite papers and then pouring glue with glitter everywhere!  I love that I can take my computer anywhere in the world with me and make pages.  I love that I can buy a kit and use the same kit for an entire book which I use to buy paper and wait for the perfect picture to use my perfect paper and by the time I got that….my paper was crumpled or I forgot I had it.  I love that you can buy templates and it makes designing a snap!  I love that I have made about 7 books in a year and prior to starting digital scrapbooking I had made about 7 pages in 10 years.  I love that you can make your pictures larger or smaller to fit in certain spaces; you can also do this with your elements.  The only thing I hate about digital scrapbooking is that I waited so long to start.  I had always been interested and thought it was too hard to even start it, boy was I wrong.  Oh and you can make just about anything for birthdays, banners, cupcake decorations, you name it with Digital Scrapbooking.  If you are thinking about starting…just do it…don’t wait!!
What’s your dream job?
My dream job is tutoring out of my house getting paid over $30 an hour!  I had a dream job as a flight attendant, flying the friendly skies all over the world.  Now I think my dream job would be to stay at home, raise my kids and be a professional photographer on the side.

Meet Lisa!

My name is Lisa Marie (Troch).  I’ve been married for 8 years and I’m also a stay @home mom to my 7 and 5-year-old boys.  My youngest son has Autism and we’ve found that staying home is a huge benefit for our family.

I’ve only been digital scrapping for a couple of months, but I have nearly 15 years of traditional scrapbooking experience which seems to help push me forward with my digi scrapping.  I experimented with just a few simple programs and have been working the most with PowerPoint, but I’ve come to a point (no pun intended) where I need more options and so comes the long and sometimes uncomfortable quest for a program with more possibilities.  Stepping outside of our comfort-zone is often tough, but the rewards are well worth it.

I have to admit; I wasn’t all that excited about stepping into digi land.  Perhaps because my computer skills were/are not really up to snuff, but now that I’ve begun, I can only go forward.  Digital scrapbooking is a total new world.  No mess has to be one of the best reasons to do digi, but the supplies are so much cheaper, too and they never end!  You can use them 1,000 times and they still never run out.

I’m pretty much living my dream job, but I have to admit, it would be very cool to get a big box, either actual or virtual, every month full of all kinds of goodies to scrap with.  I don’t get paid for anything I do, which is maintaining a scrapbooking blog as well as a Facebook Page, but it would be cool to earn a few bucks doing what I love so much.  I have some plans to start workshops and help scrapbooking get on the map in Belgium.

I find inspiration in everything.  Architecture, nature, literature, color.  Inspiration is everywhere if you are looking for it and sometimes even if you are not.

What I like best while I scrap is the absence of my children.  They are super high maintenance and the persistent interruption is a total drain on the scrapping vibe.

My favorite thing to eat for dinner is…spaghetti, but I’m one of those people who tire quickly of routine.  I’ve learned to cook international cuisine to help with this.

Besides scrapping, I love traveling.  It supplies most of my scrapbooking ammo!

Not many people know that I also do professional voice overs and acting, here in Belgium.

 Meet Ann!

Tell us a little bit about you:
My name is Ann.  I have been married for 5 years and have two beautiful little girls that are my inspiration for scrapping.  Our crazy household is rounded out by 2 dogs, a dachshund and an American Eskimo.
What program do you use to scrapbook with?
Although I know how to use PSE, my go to program is Creative Memories Storybook Creator.
How long have you been digital scrapbooking?
I started digital scrapping 2 years ago when I realized little hands and traditional scrapping don’t go together and I’ve never looked back!
What’s your favorite thing about digital scrapbooking?
I love the flexibility of digital scrapping but my favorite part is definitely the community of ladies that I am friends with “online” through scrapping.
What’s your dream job?
My current job is pretty close to a dream for me.  I am a speech language pathologist in an elementary school. I get to do what I love and still get lots of time off with my kids!
What inspires you the most in your designs?
All of my scrapping revolves around my children. I have put a challenge on myself this year to start scrapping my relationship with my husband (date nights, anniversaries, etc) so that my kids can see how important a strong marriage is and have tangible proof of real love to use as a model.
Is there anything you need to have around while you scrap?
My favorite time to scrap is first thing in the morning when my kids play nicely and we aren’t rushing off anywhere. To accomplish this I MUST have coffee!  I also like music to be playing as long as I can still keep an ear out for the girls.
Favorite thing to eat for dinner?
If I could I would eat pizza or macaroni and cheese every night.  In fact when I was pregnant the first time I ate pizza every single day for I believe it was 7 weeks.  Can you guess what her favorite food is?
What’s your favorite thing to do besides scrapbooking?
I love to explore new places… whether it be a new city or just a new neighborhood park!
Give us 1 fun fact about you that not many people know.
 I grew up in Alaska.
